What is the Fab-Dis standard and why version 3.0?

As the 2.3 format has been in use for 7 years, it was essential to upgrade the Fab-Dis data model to a new version.

The world of retailtrading is changing with more and more needs and constraints on data. Data and process exchanges are changing, this new Fab-Dis 3.0 format makes it possible to adapt to these developments by providing concrete responses.

This new FabDis 3.0 format is the result of numerous exchanges between manufacturers and distributors over the past 3 years. A work of co-construction which therefore makes it possible to propose new possibilities which we will detail in this article.

Comparison of the Fab-Dis 2.3 standard and the Fab-Dis 3.0 standard

B00_CARTOUCHE: 10 more columns to reach 22 while the Fab-Dis 2.3 version had 12 columns.

B01_COMMERCE: Only for marketable references, 26 columns disappear or are moved in order to make the enrichment and sharing of data more consistent.

B02_LOGISTICS: almost identical to the old version

B03_MEDIA: New “TYPM” are appearing including tutorial video and BIM objects.

B04_REGULATORY: Changes to the lists of possible values ​​depending on the attributes.

C01_EXTENSION: Reorganization of fields from the old commerce tab of the Fab-Dis 2.3 version now available in this tab.

C02_CORRESPONDANCE: almost identical

C03_VARIANTE: Integration of the notion of product grouping with articles according to pivotal criteria (size, colors, etc.)

C04_ETIM: This tab always corresponds to the international ETIM standard which standardizes the technical characteristics of articles.

C05_ARRET: All references stopped for sale are available in this Fab-Dis tab, including the end of marketing date.

C06_SUBSTITUTION and F01_PYRAMID: little change

It is an Excel file with different tabs. Everything is standardized to define a strict standard facilitating the exchange of data between manufacturers and distributors.

The overall structure of a Fab-Dis file must be:
