The start-up wants to accelerate the marketing of its secure web browsing solution and extend it to smartphones.
Coming from the cybersecurity company Oodrive and created in 2024, the French start-up specializing in securing web browsing VirtualBrowser announces a first round of financing of 6 million euros. Four investors participated: Go Capital, BNP Paribas Développement, Auriga Partners and BPI France. Some of the employees also took part in this operation by becoming shareholders themselves. This fundraising will allow the company finalist for the InCyber 2026 start-up prize to recruit new employees and accelerate the marketing of its solution.
Soon on smartphone
Although innovative, the Virtual Browser solution is based on simple operation: it secures web browsing by completely isolating the user’s browser. To do this, the website consulted is loaded onto a secure remote server and hosted in the cloud or on-premise. For its part, the station therefore only receives a video image from the website in the form of a stream of pixels. Via this process, the user can therefore consult unknown and unreliable sites in complete security: phishing attacks or malware are stopped before reaching the user’s computer. “We secure web browsing without constraint for the service provider or employee. To do this, we transfer the risk to this remote server. When the service provider or employee wishes to access the website or a company application from a personal or third-party computer, it is not him who connects directly. It is this server which connects to it and which, with each session, creates a sort of disposable bubble”, explains Edouard Bruté de Rémur, president and CEO of Virtual Browser.
Deployed within leading sensitive organizations such as Thales, Naval Group, Ariane Group, Dassault Aviation, Bouygues Telecom or the Council of the European Union, the solution obtained first level security certification (CSPN) in December 2025. Since then, the start-up wants to expand to mobiles. It plans to offer its customers the deployment of the solution on their employees’ smartphones. “The mobile application will be released at the end of 2026. It will protect employees, and therefore their company, from smishing attacks. When the employee clicks on a link received by SMS, the page will open in breach of protocol, as our solution does. The employee will therefore be protected from the cyberattack. An AI will tell them if the page is reliable or not. If it is reliable, then the employee can choose to switch viewing of the page to their own browser.”
Accelerate marketing in Europe
“We are experiencing strong growth. We have exceeded 2.5 million euros in annual recurring revenue. At the end of 2026, we will normally be at 4 million euros,” rejoices the CEO. Currently, the solution is deployed to more than 150,000 users and in more than 100 public and private organizations. The sectors concerned range from health to finance, including police, energy, administration and even defense. The start-up now wants to accelerate the marketing of its solution in Europe. “Our objective is that by the end of 2027, 30% of turnover will be generated outside France.”
To achieve this objective, the start-up intends to strengthen its presence on the German, Belgian and Swiss markets. It is also developing an ecosystem of publisher and integrator partners to accelerate the marketing of its solution to mid-sized companies and major European accounts. Finally, the start-up which currently has thirty employees plans to recruit new talents to its R&D teams to improve its solution.
