Sarah El-Haïry alerts Brussels about the dissemination of AI models generating naked images without consent, after the alert from the NGO AI Forensics.
The High Commissioner for Children, Sarah El-Haïry, announced on Wednesday that she would contact the European Commission, after revelations about artificial intelligence (AI) models, hosted by the Hugging Face platform, capable of generating images of naked people. This initiative comes the day after revelations from the NGO AI Forensics according to which this platform hosts such AI models.
In a statement, Sarah El-Haïry said: “AI cannot do everything. It certainly cannot be used to strip children, women or anyone without their consent.” She continued: “After Grok, for which I contacted the European Commission, contributing to the opening of an investigation, similar models are being highlighted on Hugging Face”.
AI Forensics claims that seven of the nine image-editing AI models most promoted by the platform “allow users to undress people using simple prompts”, these command lines expressed in everyday language.
