The young company promises its clients to reduce compliance times and to anticipate risks before they block the marketing of a product.
First round of funding for Cleo Labs. There start-up French company, which has developed an artificial intelligence platform dedicated to the regulatory compliance of international products, announced on April 29 that it had raised 1.35 million euros from Larry Berger, Kima Ventures, Financière Saint-James, Accel and business angels. The operation is completed by a loan of 150,000 euros from Bpifrance, bringing the total financing to 1.5 million euros.
Founded in 2025, regtech ensures that product compliance is automated internationally through the analysis of more than 25,000 regulatory authorities in 106 countries. “A single product can be affected by hundreds of regulations: standards on materials, specific labeling requirements, certifications and tests that vary depending on the country…” says Naomie Halioua, co-founder.
The platform designed by Cleo Labs aims to cover two specific needs: the mapping of regulatory requirements prior to the launch of a product and the continuous monitoring of regulatory developments for products already marketed. “We have around thirty AI agents who constantly make requests to stay up to date on regulatory matters,” explains the manager.
Decathlon among customers
The young company thus promises its clients, including Decathlon, to reduce compliance times and to anticipate risks before they block the marketing of a product. Note that its business model is based on a SaaS subscription, with a number of tokens allocated to each company based on the volume of requests. Until now, Cleo Labs focuses on the textile, electronics and toys sectors, and could expand to the cosmetics sector.
The financing should allow the start-up to fulfill several objectives: “We want to accelerate the development of our technology, structure our expansion in Europe and prepare our deployment in the United States,” concludes Naomie Halioua.
