For public authorities, the main challenge is clear: to strengthen the fight against VAT fraud, which represents a shortfall of several billion euros each year. It is also a way to obtain a more precise and real-time vision of the country’s economic activity. For businesses, electronic invoicing is a strategic opportunity; This is a powerful lever for operational performance and competitiveness.

How do you support your customers in this transition?
In January 2026 Spendesk was certified as an Approved Platform (AP) with the Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP). This is recognition of our technological expertise and our status as a trusted third party. For us, e-invoicing compliance is a natural extension of the Spendesk experience. We take care of all the technical complexity behind the scenes. Our role is to support teams and provide an integrated solution that transforms a legal obligation into a transformation opportunity.

What do you mean by transformation opportunity?

Spendesk’s approach has always been holistic. Electronic invoicing is ultimately just a new way to receive invoices and an obligation to return statuses that are already managed in Spendesk. Authorizing and automating the processing of digital invoices is the very reason for Spendesk. The company is natively positioned at the optimal point of the e-invoicing value chain, where invoice lifecycle statuses are managed, upstream of accounting.
With Spendesk, the electronic invoice does not arrive in a silo. It is directly integrated into an ecosystem that allows it to be matched with a purchase order, approved by the right person, paid for and exported to accounting, with a complete history of each operation. We don’t sell compliance, it is a native component of our smarter spend management offering.

How can we summarize the opportunities offered by this regulatory development?

Visibility, operational efficiency and intelligence. This reform is a unique opportunity for companies to modernize their finance function. It forces them to digitalize a key process, which opens the door to complete visibility of their expenses, major efficiency gains thanks to automation, and more strategic and intelligent management thanks to the exploitation of data.

How does electronic invoicing accelerate the use of AI?

This is the fuel that will power the AI engines of tomorrow in accounting. By standardizing and structuring data at the source, we create a base of reliable, high-quality data. It is on this basis that we can deploy relevant artificial intelligence tools. At Spendesk, we already use AI but the generalization of electronic invoices will allow us
allow us to go further: anomaly detection, cash flow prediction… This vision opens a new chapter for Spendesk: deploying agentic AI to redefine the CFO Office of tomorrow. Finance teams will be able to spend more time looking toward the future, thanks to insights provided in real time.
